The Karimum fabrication yard is undoubtedly Saipem’s largest yard. Built in 2011, it covers an area of approximately 1,600,000 square metres. It is the stage of the most massive constructions carried out by the company, such as the construction of the module for the Jangkrik project of about 14,273 t, completed in 2016 for Eni. As of lately, it has been the location for the serial construction of 86 jackets for wind farm projects for both the Asian and European markets. At peak production, around 14,000 people worked on site simultaneously.
