Biography

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Filippo Abbà, in Saipem since January 2022, is Chief Technology & Innovation Officer and COO of the Sustainable Infrastructures Business Line.

He currently also holds the position of Vice President of Confindustria Energia, Vice President of WEC-World Energy Congress and President of the LHS Foundation.

Before joining Saipem, he was Senior Vice President at Worley from 2018 to the end of 2021, based in London (UK).

In 2017 and 2018 he held the position of CEO of Ansaldo Energia based in Genoa.

He was Group Managing Director of Improve and Group Managing Director at WorleyParsons Ltd. from July 2015. Before joining WorleyParsons, he spent 25 years at Foster Wheeler, holding a variety of roles until his promotion to President and CEO of Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd. in January 2011 and CEO of Foster Wheeler Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2013.

Filippo Abbà has over 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector, holding a variety of operational and commercial roles in the EPC sector, including extensive experience on major international EPC projects worldwide. Throughout his career, he was also APAC Regional Managing Director based in Singapore and Project Director of numerous EPC/EPCM projects worldwide.
