Biography
Born in Modena in 1969. He graduated in Aircraft Engineering at the University of Pisa in 1994.
He has nearly 30 years of professional experience in management, engineering and construction within the renewable and offshore Oil and Gas industry, involved with ultra-deepwater and shallow waters developments, including subsea pipeline, flowlines, platforms, FPSOs engineering, construction & installation and barge/vessel upgrading, conversions and new built.
In 1996, after military service, he started in London as a Project Engineer in European Marine Contractors LTD a JV between Saipem and Brown & Root. He later moved to Mexico to work on the Pemex EPC7 project, and then returned to London for Statoil’s Europipe II project in the North Sea.
In 1999, he joined Saipem S.p.A. in Milan and worked on the Blue Stream Project – Snam/Gazprom in the Black Sea. In the year 2000, he joined SB Construction and Maritime Services B.V in Amsterdam for Girassol Project in Angola, and later for Djeno Project in Congo.
From 2003 he held the position of Project Manager of the Sakhalin II Offshore Pipelines and Cables project for SEIC (Shell) in Fano, Jakarta, Moscow and Sakhalin.
In 2007 he was appointed Project Manager for the Blacktip Project in Australia.
From 2008 up to 2014, he was in Kuala Lumpur working as Senior Vice President EPIC & T&I Offshore Construction for Bumi Armada, a Malaysian-based international offshore energy facilities and services provider with global experience spread across Asia and Africa dealing with Subsea T&I and FPSOs EPCI.
Later in 2014, he returned to in Saipem as Managing Director of Saipem Asia and Saipem Malaysia and as a General Manager of Saipem Beijing Technical Services in Kuala Lumpur.
In 2016, he moved to the United Arab Emirates he worked as Saipem’s Area Manager of Offshore Business for Middle East & India while still holding the role of General Manager of Saipem Beijing Technical Services. Between 2019 and 2021 he was Head of Conventional, SURF and Renewables Business Line and Head of Pipeline Technology Group and Offshore Operations in Saipem Offshore Division in Paris, France.
He later moved to Abu Dhabi (UAE) and became Head of Conventional and Trunkline Business Line till end of 2022.
Upon his return to Milan, he assumed the role of Offshore Director.
From 1 July 2024, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the business line Asset Based Services.
