The recognition refers to the cooperation agreement signed between Saipem and Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic to provide specialistic academic and on-job training in the country

Saipem Snamprogetti KSA Co. Ltd. has signed a cooperation agreement with Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP) to provide a 2-year academic and technical training program for around 15 Saudi Technical Specialists, both men and women. This program, named  “24 Month Diploma Program Intake”, will further increase the number of Saudi Nationals in the Saudi Arabian offshore construction sector, in line with the country's Saudization plan.

During the special ceremony for the initiative’s kick off held in Al Dhahran, Saipem was also honoured by the Client Saudi Aramco in recognition of its active participation in the program.

In the framework of the cooperation agreement, Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic will provide 12-15 months of academic and technical training, while the remaining 8-12 months will consist of on-job training at Saipem premises in the country. Students will be specialized in areas such as welding, electrical, pipefitting, scaffolding and crane operation.

Upon the successful completion of the training program, Saipem will consider employing the best graduates using various successful Saipem internship modules already implemented at other projects around the globe.

In line with its business philosophy to enhance local content and to develop enduring relationships in all the countries where it operates, Saipem is always committed to contributing to the creation of economic value and benefits in terms of know-how, competences and investments for the labour market. Thanks to its long-term presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saipem already contributes significantly to the Saudization plan through the jobs created directly and indirectly by its activities, its purchases of local goods and services and its technology transfer and training initiatives towards local employees.
