Press note: Saipem presents new proprietary design solution at Nitrogen + Syngas 2016 in Berlin
San Donato Milanese, March 1, 2016 – Saipem is pleased to announce its participation in the annual
Nitrogen + Syngas conference which takes place in Berlin from February 29 to March 3.
In addition to showcasing its skills and long-standing experience as Licensor and EPC Contractor of fertilizer plants, the 2016 edition of the event will also see Saipem present its SnamprogettiTM Supercups innovation, as applied to urea production. The innovation is based on SnamprogettiTM Urea Technology, which Saipem owns and licenses.
The innovative SuperCups solution is a patented design of urea reactor internals which can boost urea synthesis yield. The Supercups concept works by significantly enhance the mixing of the reactants, thus optimizing the product conversion rate in the reactor. This increase in conversion efficiency produces direct benefits on overall day-by-day performances, including lower energy consumption and reduced environmental impact.
Presentation of the new SuperCups technology, which will include the performance results for the solution in the two plants in which it has been installed, Borealis Agrolinz Melamine GmbH and Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, will take place on March 2.
