The construction activities of the Mozambique LNG Project are progressively resuming after the announcement by Total E&P Mozambique Area 1 (TEPMA1) and the Government of Mozambique of further safety measures for the Afungi production site, near Cabo Delgado in Northern of Mozambique, which has been scenario of recent security events.

 

 

Moreover, Total confirmed its objective to deliver Mozambique LNG’s first cargoes in 2024, while Saipem, during the presentation of the full year 2020 financial results to the market, on February 24, 2021, had already informed that the project was on schedule

The Joint Venture CCSJV scarl, led by Saipem with McDermott International and Chiyoda Corporation, was awarded in June 2019 the contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of the onshore LNG project in Mozambique for a total amount of 8 billion dollars, of which Saipem's share is approximately 6 billion dollars.
