Milan (Italy), February 3, 2023 – Saipem has been included for the first time in Bloomberg's Gender Equality Index (GEI), an internationally accredited index that aims to track the gender-data reporting of public companies with a capitalisation in excess of 1 billion USD. Saipem achieved inclusion in the Index thanks to its score for the assessment of its commitment to promoting gender equality through policy development, representation and transparency.
Bloomberg's Gender Equality Index, which was instituted in 2018, now includes 418 companies across 11 sectors, 45 countries and representing around 16 trillion USD in market capitalisation.
The reporting framework adopted by Bloomberg provides companies with a model based on five pillars: leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies and external brand.
Saipem's inclusion in this prestigious index is the result of its commitment to promoting an inclusive workplace.
Back in 2019, the company signed the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles (WEP), jointly established by UN Global Compact and UN Women to support gender equality and women's empowerment. In 2022, the 'Diversity, Equality and Inclusion' policy was approved by the Board of Directors and that same year, Saipem obtained the ISO 30415:2021 attestation for 'Human Resource Management - Diversity and Inclusion' from DNV, the internationally recognised classification society.
