Saipem selected to support the development of an advanced chemical recycling plant in the Netherlands

Saipem has been selected by Aduro Clean Technologies, a Canadian company specializing in innovative technologies for the valorisation and chemical recycling of plastic waste, to provide preliminary services for the development of its first industrial-scale facility. The plant will be based on Aduro's proprietary Hydrochemolytic™ technology and will be built at Chemelot Industrial Park in the Netherlands, one of Europe's leading integrated chemical hubs, located in Sittard-Geleen near the borders with Belgium and Germany.

The project aims to develop an industrial-scale facility capable of converting complex plastic waste into feedstocks that can be reintroduced into chemical and petrochemical production processes, with an initial capacity of 10,000 tonnes per year.

As part of the project, Saipem will provide preliminary engineering and procurement services, support the technical and economic optimization of the initiative while contributing to the industrialization of Aduro’s technology. This phase represents a key milestone in the project's development and may pave the way for subsequent engineering, construction, and commissioning activities.

This collaboration further reinforces Saipem's role as a partner for the industrialization and scale-up of innovative technologies that support the circular economy and advanced plastics recycling.
