Week 51/2026 – IWCF Well Control Lev. 3-4
IWCF-certified Drilling Well Control course for Level 3 (Operator) and Level 4 (Supervisor), with either Surface BOP Stack or Combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack configuration.
Course overview
This programme is designed for personnel in critical well control positions on drilling installations as well as onshore roles. Candidates will complete an IWCF-accredited training course, taught according to the IWCF syllabus, to prepare them for their assessment.
Candidates can undertake either surface BOP operations or combined surface and subsea operations. Assessments are made up of multiple-choice problem questions. Candidates must be able to identify equipment components and operating procedures using diagrams and schematics.
Invigilators conduct the assessments at IWCF accredited training centres which have been approved for the certification programme.

Speakers
Vladimir Mitu
Vladimir entered the Oil & Gas industry in 2011, joining an OEM specialising in drilling technologies. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive international experience in technical training.
Since 2025, he has worked as a Drilling Trainer at Saipem Drilling Training Centre, serving as an IWCF-accredited Instructor and Assessor in Drilling Well Control and Well Intervention Pressure Control.
Davide Giulio Fenaroli
Davide began his career in the Oil & Gas industry in 2002 with a company specialising in Mud Logging. In 2006, he joined Saipem, where he held operator and supervisory roles on both onshore and offshore rigs. In 2020, he moved to the head office as a Drilling Operations Engineer within the rig coordination team. Since 2025, he has served Saipem Drilling Training Centre as an IWCF-accredited Instructor and Assessor in Drilling Well Control and Simulation expert.
Target Audience
The Level 3 course is targeted to the professional roles of Assistant Driller, Driller and Drilling Subsea Engineer.The Level 4 course is targeted to the professional roles of Tool Pusher, Tour Pusher, Rig Manager, Rig Superintendent, Drilling Supervisor and Company Supervisor.
