Biography

Born in 1973, Marco Satta was awarded a degree in Environmental and Land Engineering by the University of Bologna and a Master's in General Management by Bocconi University in Milan. In 1999, he worked for Montefibre to develop and implement the management system in order to achieve environmental certification in an acrylic fibre production plant.

He has held various positions at Saipem in the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department since 2001. He began as an HSE system engineer, working on  drilling and construction vessels and offshore plants and coordinated the work to obtain certification for the company and the fleet in compliance with the SOLAS ISM code.  Subsequently, he has held positions in E&C Offshore projects in Far East Asia, from Sakhalin to Papua and from Taiwan to Australia, until he was appointed HSE Manager, first at Saipem Indonesia and then throughout the Asia-Pacific region at Saipem Singapore. He returned to Europe in 2009, where he held various positions, including HSE Manager of the Offshore Business Unit. He was Director of QHSE&S of Saipem SA in Paris from 2011 until 2015, where he also managed quality and sustainability issues and was also responsible for onshore projects, Maritime Works and the Floaters business line.

In March 2017, he was appointed Director of Health, Safety and Environment of Saipem SpA.
