The project
PGU III is just one example of several pipeline projects designed and built in Southeast Asia. This was the last stage of the PGU project, which was executed in order to provide natural gas from fields located off the west coast of the Malaysian Peninsula to end users in Malaysia and in Singapore. Construction of the main 184 km, 36” sealine on a LSTK basis involved crossing swamps as well as rain forests, several rivers, oil palm plantations and paddy fields. In this project in Southeast Asia, especially important was the PASSO Welding System, an innovative system used in the automatic welding of pipes.
