Biography

59 years old, married with two sons, he has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milan Politecnico. Before joining Saipem as the COO of Business Line Energy Carriers, Filippo Abbà was Senior Vice President in Worley from 2018 to the end of 2021 with global responsibility for major projects based in London (United Kingdom). 

In 2017 and 2018, Filippo Abbà held the position of CEO of Ansaldo Energia with headquarters in Genoa (MI). 

Filippo Abba has been the Group Managing Director of Improve and Group Managing Director of Major Projects at WorleyParsons Limited since July 2015.  Before joining WorleyParsons, he spent 25 years at Foster Wheeler where he held various posts until he was promoted to Chairman and CEO for Foster Wheeler Energy Limited in January 2011 and Chief Executive Officer of Foster Wheeler Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2013. 

Filippo Abbà has over 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector and has held various operational and commercial posts in the EPC arena, with extensive experience on major international, EPC projects worldwide. During his career, he was also the APAC Regional MD based in Singapore and also held the post of Project Director of numerous EPC/EPCM projects throughout the world.
