Human and Labour Rights
We believe in Human Rights as a fundamental principle of our Code of Ethics.
Saipem undertakes to protect and promote Human and Labour Rights, aiming constantly to raise awareness on this matter and disseminate the principles throughout the value chain.
The key points of our approach
SA 8000 certification
In 2022, Saipem obtained SA8000 certification from Social Accountability International, having met the highest protection standards on Human Rights and employee well-being and rights. Since then, every day we confirm our commitment to sustainable business ethics and the protection of and respect for human rights.

Our frame of reference
Saipem operates within the framework of the principles in the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the core conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the guidelines of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for multinational companies.
The United Nations’ Business and Human Rights Guidelines, Global Compact, 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals form the basis for our sustainable business strategy. We therefore publish the “Saipem Human Rights and Modern Slavery Statement” annually in compliance with the requirements of the 2015 UK Modern Statement Act, the 2018 Australian Modern Slavery Act and the 2022 Norwegian “Transparency Act”.
We are always looking for enthusiastic, passionate innovators who wish to contribute to meeting our challenges.
