The vision of a sustainable future is already an integral part of our present, with concrete actions and a well-defined Sustainability Plan. Despite operating in an often volatile economic and geopolitical context and navigating the inevitable uncertainties of the ongoing energy transition, we believe and have set out a coherent set of objectives to measure performance across material environmental, social and governance topics. One of our greatest challenges is the desire to protect the environment and make the sustainability culture global. Everything we do is guided by a clear vision for tomorrow, combining technological prowess and leading management capabilities to create a tangible and positive impact.

Our objectives
Net Zero and biodiversity
Faced with today’s global energy transformation, and the need to mitigate climate change and protect the environment, we at Saipem are united in working to implement two fundamental actions within the company: forging a path towards Net Zero and preserving biodiversity.
We have accepted the challenge to reduce our carbon footprint throughout the value chain. Our Net Zero programme includes initiatives to improve operational efficiency, increase the use of renewables, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support our clients in their decarbonisation process.
But our efforts do not stop there. We recognise the symbiotic bond between the loss of biodiversity and the climate crisis, and for this reason we have chosen to look beyond operational boundaries, engaging clients, suppliers and sector stakeholders on climatic and environmental objectives, working in synergy as a single group. We actively support principles such as “No net loss of biodiversity,” and are committed to obtaining a net positive impact on biodiversity in our sites, working with the communities to adapt to climate change and engaging first and foremost Saipem’s People in our efforts towards a sustainable future.
Thanks only to the challenges our employees choose to tackle every day, we have been pioneers of advanced engineering technologies for years, and we imagine a future in which actions for the climate, environmental sustainability and the protection of biodiversity come together in a single, coherent scenario.
In collaboration with Plastic Free, 101 Saipem employees participated in the Clean Up Day, collecting 1.437 kg of waste.
In collaboration with Coliba Africa SAS, we organised a Cleanup Day. 37 participants collected 750 kg of plastic waste.
Saipem participated in the clean-up campaign “Caspian Week”, organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
We launched the Clean Up Day initiative on Malika beach in Dakar where 50 participants collected 535 kg of waste.
We organized a volunteer initiative in partnership with Plastic Free: 18 employees collected 400 kg of waste.
The third and final stage of the Clean Up Days 2024 in Senegal took place in Dakar, where 70 participants gathered 1.450 kg of waste.
