Saipem wins a new E&C Onshore contract worth in excess of 700 million euro

San Donato Milanese (Milan), 28 April 2011  – Saipem has been awarded a new E&C Onshore contract worth in excess of 700 million euro, in the Infrastructure business line.

The contract has been awarded by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana Spa (FS Group) to the Cepav Due Consortium, in which Saipem has a 52% share, and encompasses the construction of the Treviglio-Brescia length of the high-speed/high-capacity railway line.

The project consists of the detailed engineering, project management and construction of a 39km hi-speed/hi-capacity railway and of an additional 12km of interconnections with the existing conventional railway, along the Treviglio-Brescia section across the Milan, Bergamo and Brescia Provinces, as well as all associated works, such as power lines, interfered road tracks, road crossings and environmental mitigation.

Through the Cepav Uno Consortium, Saipem previously planned and constructed the high-speed/high-capacity Milan-Bologna railway section, which is in service from 12 December 2008.
