R&D

Technology Innovation is supporting the three different businesses within Saipem group: Onshore, Offshore and Drilling.

In the continuing quest of designing and building modern, cost-effective and sustainable new investments for Saipem customers world-wide, the Technology Innovation in the Saipem onshore business pursues two basic commitments.
One is the development of unique proprietary process technologies and related know-how in selected lines of the oil & gas production and derivatives chain.
The second is fostering a high level of general technical expertise, by applying most modern third party state-of-the-art technologies to Saipem new projects.

The oil & gas market is driving the offshore industry to even more challenging operations. Saipem is responding through its sustainability commitments, developing enabling technologies in the areas of frontiers projects, improving operations reliability and reducing the environmental impact of construction activities. The new solutions offered to Saipem customers are the sum of efforts in innovating the technological package, the installation methods and equipments, putting together strong multidisciplinary competences. A fleet of new vessels is now offering a wide range of innovative technologies responding to the present and future needs of the offshore construction industry.

Furthermore, the new generation of drilling vessels built by Saipem over the last years is exploiting the complementary technologies developed to enhance the safety and reliability of control systems in operation. In onshore drilling, moreover, the technology improvements are continuously decreasing the environmental impact of the operations.
