Management Systems and Quantity Manager
I consider myself lucky to have worked on a project like Shah as it was a chance in a lifetime. Plants of this complexity are not simple to build and represent a constant challenge. I was responsible for the Information Systems required to manage the Construction activities (MSQM). With more than 200,000 tons of material to be installed there was an enormous work load in all the construction phases. We also had to deal with the combined pressure of a challenging schedule and harsh environmental conditions (which in the Middle East, especially during summer, can be tough). Projects such as Shah give us an opportunity to develop our know-how and organizational structure and allow a company like Saipem to cement its leadership position in the execution of Onshore EPC Projects. Having highly-skilled individuals is not enough to realize a mega-project like Shah. Team-work, a shared goal, a high level of integration and the use of our unique Project Management Information Systems are the secrets that enabled “common” people to achieve “uncommon” results. I feel proud and extremely satisfied when I realize that I made my own small contribution to such a massive project. I would like thank the highly committed Project Team who were key to achieving such an ambitious goal. We all have a lot to be proud of!
